Answer three questions. Get the right class.
Distance, passengers, bags — that's the whole brief. The matrix decides from there.
Real routes, real pairings.
Each route below maps to the smallest class that does it comfortably nonstop — so you don't overspend. Distances are great-circle; charter times include climb, cruise and descent.
The matrix let our team pre-qualify the cabin class before the call. We booked a Praetor 600 for SFO–JFK in under an hour.
Side-by-side range and cabin-height specs saved us from over-buying. Light jet was plenty for ASE–TEB.
Three real quotes, three real operators, one decision. No upsell to a G650 when a Falcon 2000 does the job.

Honest answers on hourly rates and routes.
How is the hourly rate set?+
from $/hr figure is an indicative estimate blending the operator's hourly rate for that aircraft type with broker market data (ARGUS TripCHEQ, recent like-routes). Final price adds repositioning, fuel adjustments, ramp fees, segment fees and crew expenses. We always label the hourly as an estimate — the binding number is in your quote. What are repositioning fees?+
repositioning and is the single biggest swing factor in private pricing. Empty-leg and one-way programs can collapse this cost — we surface it as a separate line item on every quote so you can compare apples to apples. Are there one-way options?+
Do I need an ultra-long-range jet for coast-to-coast?+
LAX ↔ TEB/JFK is roughly 2,140 nm — well inside a Super-mid (Challenger 350, Praetor 600) at ~3,600 nm range. ULR (G650ER, Global 7500) is overkill unless you need transatlantic nonstop, transpacific range, or a bedroom-class cabin. The matrix tells you the smallest class that does the trip nonstop. What's the real cabin-height difference?+
4′9″–4′11″ — you duck and stoop. Mid/Super-mid (CL350, Praetor) jump to 6′0″ — full stand-up for most adults. Heavy (G450, Falcon 2000) reach 6′2″; ULR (G650, Global 7500) hit 6′3″–6′4″ with a true walk-through cabin. Height is the single biggest comfort delta class-to-class.
